If it wasn’t obvious yet, we have a lot of love for the South Downs and enjoy celebrating its beauty across our blogs and social media. We thought we’d take the opportunity to share that love with you again and put together some romantic spots and great walking routes that you can explore with your significant other.
Romantic Spots in the South Downs
A short uphill walk is always worth it to see a beautiful sunset. If you’re in West Sussex a visit to the Trundle in Goodwood is a lovely idea. Time it right and you’ll capture the perfect golden sunset – very romantic! The views of Chichester all the way to Littlehampton and then out towards the English Channel are amazing.
Maybe you’d like to do some stargazing? If you’re over in Hampshire, you can beat the city haze and spot all the constellations at Butser Hill. South Downs Way cuts through this area so it’s also a great spot for walking during the day!
If you’re looking for day activities, Tinwood Estate offer great wine tasting opportunities (and they serve South Downs Water!) Or if you fancy pampering yourself and your partner, check out The Spa at South Lodge. We’d love to see you hydrating with South Downs Water at these locations, so make sure to tag us on Instagram!
Walking Routes Along the South Downs
You can’t beat the South Downs Way in beauty, rolling hills, cosy villages, all leading to the great cliffs of Eastbourne, the Seven Sisters. Starting the South Downs Way route from the start and breaking it up into smaller walks could be a great bonding moment for you and your significant other. Or, if you’re feeling fearless, a walk along the cliff edge would be a great idea for a stroll, windy though, so wrap up.
Starting at Slindon College and heading North towards Bignor, opens out to gorgeous fields, perfect for picnics soaking in the nature and fresh air. Just make sure to take water with you, we suggest a bottle of our natural mineral water!
Check out the official National Park website for more walking route ideas and information.
Perfect Picture Spots
If you’re looking to snap a great picture of you and your partner, Ditchling Beacon & Devil’s Dyke offer some amazing panoramic backdrops to achieve that perfect picture. If you climb all the way up Kingley Vale you can also snap some great selfies! Share the love with us too, if you take any pictures with our products in, we’d love to see them. Make sure to tag us or use the hashtag #SouthDownsWater across social media.
However you are celebrating Valentine’s Day this year, enjoy!
