South Downs Water keeps charity team hydrated for epic take on the Three Peaks Challenge.

We’ve been continuing our ongoing charity work this month by supporting a team of fundraisers in their efforts to complete the Three Peaks Challenge the difficult way for local charity Verity’s Gift. 

The team of four, including Trustee George Turner, had a big challenge on their hands in climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike & Ben Nevis, and decided to make it even more of an endurance challenge by cycling between each of the peaks. 

In total, the challenge would see the team cycle 423 miles and run up the peaks covering 29 miles – all of which had to be completed in under 72 hours. 

Staying hydrated along the way with South Downs Water, the challenge proved to be no mean feat. But with resilience, determination and a great display of physical and mental strength, the team became the third to ever to complete the challenge with the additional cycles in between, raising nearly £9000 along the way.

Verity’s Gift is a charity set up to give help to local causes and support children who have lost parents. Their first mission is to raise money to refurbish the Emsworth park children’s play area to create a place where people of all ages can visit and relax.
