A big hello from South Downs Water

A big (businesses as usual) hello from everyone at South Downs Water!

Whilst the world has been turned upside down over the last few months, we’ve all had to pivot, diversify or put businesses on hold. Amidst the uncertainty, we know one thing; we can’t wait to see you all again.
 

What’s been happening at SDW? 
When the world locked down, we looked for ways to help those in our local community. We teamed up with our local farm shop in Southbourne, West Sussex, to establish a grocery delivery service for over 70s and NHS staff. We’ve since delivered over 1500 orders to residents in the surrounding villages. 

We’ve also donated hundreds of bottles of South Downs Natural Mineral Water to some fantastic local causes. Through the #ComeOnDonna campaign, we’ve donated water to St Richard’s Hospital, and we’ve also donated hundreds of bottles to our local hospice; St Wilfrid’s. We’re entirely grateful to all key workers, including our delivery staff, who have tirelessly worked to keep the nation going.

Safety first 
We are still very much here behind-the-scenes and remain open for business. Like everyone else, we’ve been busy reviewing and updating our policies to ensure we’re offering a safe product and service post-COVID19. If you’d like full details of our new policies, please do get in touch.

Heading back to work? 

As we hear the first rumblings of workplaces reopening, we strongly recommend sanitation of all water coolers as many will have sat idle over the last few months.

We have updated our policies in accordance with government guidance. Our engineers will be using full PPE to ensure your safety and theirs. If you’d like to know more about our new policies, please send us an email.
 

100% recycled plastic bottles

Just before lockdown, we launched our new rPET packaging (bottles made from 100% recycled plastic). We were overwhelmed with the support for the initiative which aims to keep plastic in a closed-loop system. 

It remains our plan to roll out our new bottles, but whilst we envisaged this would happen during March, we will now be phasing them in as businesses re-open. 

We’ll keep you updated when we’ve made the full switch, which we anticipate will be within three months from the ease of lockdown.
